Preparing for the Holidays

It's been quite a year for our family. Mike is now working as a 5th grade teacher at Holt Elementary. We are so grateful for this wonderful blessing for him and for our family. He graduated from University of Phoenix in May and it was a wonderful event to celebrate Mike and all his hard work.

Brittanie is working at Al Marah Arabian Horse Ranch in Tucson Arizona. She moved there in June and it's been in interesting time for her. She loves the horses and being on her own but she has faced some challenges with strange roommates (like the one who decided not to shave her armpits or wear deodorant...like her fave rock star...yuck) and a boss who is a bit psychotic.

Zachary is getting ready for his mission and should be leaving withing a few months. I'd post more about him but I'm sure he'd be very unhappy with me for putting his personal info on the world wide web...bwahahahahaha.

I'm still teaching SEM at Buffalo Point Elementary. This is my 5th year and I'm still enjoying working the great kids there. I haven't done any show since doing The Importance of Being Earnest earlier this year.

Brittanie gets to come home for one whole day for Thanksgiving next week. We are putting up Christmas decorations to make up for the holiday weekend she can't spend at home. She'll help us decorate the tree...and we'll eat pie...and mashed potatoes.

Wow, what a day. Church at 9:00 A.M. Sacrament Meeting was so wonderful. Katie sang Jesu Bambino, Cory and Keith played the marimba, Samantha played a fabulous solo, Mandy and Emily played a flute duet, Sarah sang What Child is This. All of it was amazing.

For primary sing time I asked Cory and Keith to come play the marimba for the kids. It was so much fun. The kids were just mezmerized. I really enjoy working with the kids.

After church I baked cookies in preparation for a visit to see Deni and her family. I only had time to bake a few dozen but that's all I needed for now.

At 2:00 P.M. our family drove to West Point to be with Richard's family as Tyler was given the Mechizedek  Priesthood and ordained an elder. What a great day. We went back to their house after for some lunch.

We got home at 4:45 and I layed down to take a nap. I had only been sleeping for ten minutes when the doorbell rang, the house phone rang and my cell phone rang. Sandy & Tyler Brooke had stopped by for a visit. They are new to our neighborhood and I'm so glad they are here.kkkkkk

2011 Is Well Underway

It's March already and our family has been very busy.

Brittanie moved out last fall and is living with a family in Tooele and working on their ranch. She loves working with the horses and recently adopted a wild mustang that she named Zam after her favorite Star Wars character.

Zachary has been attending LDS Business College. He enjoys being in a good environment for his classes. He will be turning 19 in August and is getting ready for his mission.

Mike is still out of work but working hard at finishing up his teaching degree. He will finish up within the year. We pray every day for him to be blessed with work to provide for our family.

I am doing Annie at the new Centerpoint Legacy Theatre in Centerville. It's a brand new seventeen million dollar facility that just opened. Annie will be the second show performed there. I'm thrilled to have such a great place to rehearse and perform.

Utah Renaissance Festival

Brittanie, Becca and Sabrina with "Sir Jason" at the jousting event. This stuff rocks.

Taiko Drummers at Buffalo Point Elementary

I invited a Taiko drum group from the Ogden Buddhist Church to perform at Buffalo Point Elementary for my SEM students. It was so amazing. I have never seen kids sit so quietly through and assembly. I got to play the drums with a few other teachers. An amazing experience.

Celtic Woman Concert

Our only pictures from that night
Brittanie bought the tickets for us.

Brittanie and I have been looking forward to this day for months now. We had excellent seats on the floor, in the center and only 12 rows back. It was amazing. Thanks Britt for an amazing evening.
